Holy Shit, I found it !

Well raise my rent! I found it. After my usual half assed effort to find out if there was indeed a NY Titans away jersey I came up dry and quit. (cont' below, the next paragraph accompanies the pic from the website I found it on )http://www.conigliofamily.com/TitansJets.htm

In the third game of the 1961 season versus the Boston Patriots, Titans fullback Bill Mathis broke his collarbone and this jersey was cut and removed from his body as he was helped off the field. Despite the injury, Mathis went on to play all 14 games that season - a testament to the toughness exhibited by the players of the American Football League. He led the AFL that year with 202 attempts, was second in rushing yards with 846 and second in touchdowns with seven.

Then I was going to address Stieners issue of poor number visibility by suggesting that since there was white in the shoulder stripe, why not outline the numbers and nameplate letters in white? So I went looking fot a generic pic of the NY Titan jersey currently in use and stumbled across this beauty. Check out the stripes at the bottom of the long sleeves. I want it,... I want it bad. Its reminiscent of a Vikings away jersey of the seventies, isn't it?
